I recently watched the "Transformers" movie. I grew up watching these cartoons, and my boy, while not being allowed to watch them yet, is transfixed on the toys.

This was an opportunity.

We went along and purchased an Optimus Prime for him, lovely sounds, shooting things and lights...Just great.

I also got to purchase a more advanced Optimus Prime which actually transforms, just the one I always wanted as a kid but could not afford.  You may ask why? My reasoning and explanation to my lovely wife was..... 

This toy is going to facilitate a bonding relationship with our son.

It worked! I am still in some measure of amazement that this actually went over without a hitch.  I'm not sure that I can get away with this forever, but we do play Transformers together and he loves this time.
